The function of power substation is to transform electrical power from one high voltage to another high voltage or from a high voltage to medium voltage lines. Another functions of power substation are designated for the measurement function, operating supervision function, also to set protections for the electrical power systems themselves. In procedural manner, electrical power is transmitted from an electrical power plant to consuments through some unit of power substations. The roles of power substation is very important as a fault in electrical equipments of the power substation taking a place, the activities that depens to the power substation are automatically disabled and it will eventually cause some loss of voltages for PT.PLN (Persero) and the costumers. In summary, the power substation units definitely require a proper maintanance method. The case studies is mainly focused in the discourse of comparing the routine maintenance and predictive maintenance expenses, in conjunction to technicals and economicals for Bay Trafo 1 at Gardu Induk 150 KV Jajar Surakarta.} }
