		abstract={In the electric power system, the protection system is an important component for maintaining reliability directly and distribution of electrical energy. Protection system serves to protect equipment from fault at the time of the offending and localize interference from spreading. With their good protection system, then unwanted losses could be avoided. The transformer is a very important component in the generation of electrical energy. If the interference on the generator transformer terminals, it will cause interference electricity production process and can cause damage to the equipment it self. Therefore, to reduce the occurrence of the damage then placed a piece of equipment that serves to protect the disruption. Equipment that play a role in the protection system including the differential relay that is used to protect the transformer. This relay protects the generator transformer from disturbances such as short circuit between phases, as well as short circuit between windings. This relay works very quickly without time delay.}
