However, the solar power plant is intermittent which means it cannot supply power continuously because solar power plant operates according to its source and the surrounding natural condition. Because of that, the power generated is fluctuating. If the solar power plant is interconnected to PLN's distribution network, the fluctuations in the output power can disrupt the interconnection system stability. To maintain the stability of the system, a sufficient amount of turnover from the existing plant is needed to balance these fluctuations. This thesis discusses how the effect of the intermittent nature from a large-scale solar power plant if being interconnected with the existing network of PLN. Based on a study conducted on 5 MWp On-Grid solar power plant in Oelpuah - Kupang, in 2016 the operation of the PLTS greatly disrupted the stability of the system in Timor because the spinning reserve of the system was only 500 kW and not proportional to the capacity of the solar power plant. PLTS penetration restrictions were carried out with a maximum of 2 MW. However, in 2019 the turnover reserve on the system increased to 10,000 kW so that the solar power plant can supply power in full capacity and the system stability can be maintained. The study finds that in order to optimize the interconnection between a solar power plant and the existing PLN network, the spinning reserves owned by the existing system must be proportional to the installed capacity of the PLTS that will be interconnected.} }
