Loading on the transformer affects oil temperature. The purpose of this research was to analyze the effect of loading and ambient temperature against the age of unit 1 transformers in Serang substation, so that they could determine the transfomator's worst age losses. This research uses quantitative research methods with descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The data sources used are data on loading and ambient temperature on transformer unit 1 Serang substation obtained from PT. PLN (Persero) UIT JBB, UPT Cilegon. Data will be analyzed based on thermal aging of insulation and loss of life calculation. Based on the analysis of the data obtained, each increase in hot spot temperature will increase the age shrinkage rate in the transformer, which will result in shorter transformer service life. Based on loading data in 2018 the power transformer unit 1 and 2 Serang with a loading on January 2018 until December 2018 results in an age shrinkage on February of 0.0291 for transformer 1 and on November of 0,0071 for transformer 2. The optimum load size so that the age shrinkage does not exceed 100% on unit 1 transformer Serang substation is 90.96% or 54,567 MVA.} }
