The transformer will experience excessive heat when operated continuously, therefore insulating oil is needed as a coolant. Because over time the transformer will experience a decrease in performance, so it is necessary to carry out maintenance, one of which is by testing the Break Down Voltage (BDV) insulating oil at the Overtime Substation using the IEC 60156-1955 testing standard. The results of the test show that the BDV value for two years at the Lembursitu Substation did not decrease, but increased. However, in 2020 the BDV value of the OLTC portion of the oil is included in the bad category, where the resulting value is 29.6 kV, meaning that the BDV value is below the predetermined standard. Because according to the IEC 60422 standard, a transformer that has a voltage of 150 kV must produce a value of 40 kV. Therefore, in order for the transformer to continue to operate properly, it is necessary to replace the oil. And it was proven that after retesting in 2022 the BDV value increased by 23,3 kV.
