Some areas in the Selayar Islands cannot be reached by PLN due to terrain conditions where it is impossible to build distribution lines. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of renewable energy sources which allows it to be used as electrical energy and reduce the shortage of electrical energy in Selayar Islands. The method used is to analyze which energy is cheap and has impacts on the economy of the surrounding community. By comparing 3 energies, namely Solar, Wind, and Biomass (briquettes), the lowest LCOE value is obtained for biomass and hybrid Solar-biomassa, wich is Rp1.496/kWh and Rp1.468/kWh. Between the two technologies, biomass is a technology that can be calculated both in terms of potential and price. Selayar Islands can produce coconut around 21.170 tons/year. In addition, to support the government program called REBED, briquettes can not only be used as a source of electrical energy but how the briquettes can have impacts on the economy of the surrounding community. By forming a briquette business unit, residents have job options and other abilities.} }
