The transformer can only withstand the maximum short-circuit current of TFC (Through Fault Current) for two seconds. TFC with maximum short-circuit current can occur at 20kV busbar. However, the 20kV busbar clearing uses a cascading pattern in the incoming transformer OCR using a long waiting response time. So it is necessary to develop a 20kV busbar protection design. In 2019 PLN TJBB implemented 20kV busbar protection by utilizing logical coordination between incoming transformer OCR (Over Current Relay) protection and feeder OCR protection. However, when a fault occurs in the parallel feeder (spot load) or when the feeders are transferred to another 20kV busbar transformer, the design of 20kV busbar protection works incorrectly in clearing the disturbance. Therefore, the authors propose a new concept by changing the value of the 20kV busbar protection blocking setting from High set to over current TMS (Time Multiple Setting) on the feeder and adding coupler OCR logic as 20kV busbar protection. The new concept of 20kV busbar protection can be more selective and reliable to accommodate five different types of faults.} }
