Therefore, researchers conducted this study with the aim to study the factors causing the failure of the Lontar power plant sootblower spear tube. To analyze the failure of the lance tube pipe can be done through several methods such as visual inspection, metallographic testing, hardness testing and tensile strength testing. After testing, it is found at the point that corrects deflection, the damage value decreases, on the deflection side a value of 60 HRB is obtained, while on the normal side it is 66.7 HRB, From the results of tensile strength testing, and there are differences in grain size between areas that are deflected and normal areas, this is due to creep that arises because the pipe works too long in conditions of receiving loads and high temperature exposure for a long time.} }
