		abstract={Linear Search is a data search technique by tracing all data one by one. If a data match is found, the 
program will return output, otherwise the search will continue until the end of the array. Based on 
information received by the Gowa Police, until now they have not used an application to input the
history of prisoners and are still using the manual method, namely by using Microsoft Excel as an 
instant way to enter the prison history data from year to year. Therefore, the authors create an 
information system for data collection of prisoners' history equipped with a Searching Algorithm, 
namely the Linear Search Algorithm. The results of this study are known to analyze the average speed 
of 1.25 ms in the search process for 180 data.}
