In order for the production of red chili plants to continue to increase, agricultural extension workers need to anticipate various attacks and diseases on chili plants. Chili plants have a lot of pest and disease attacks where pest and disease attacks have the potential to reduce chili production and even cause crop failure. In addition, the instructor's lack of knowledge about the types of pests and diseases, sometimes makes the extension workers guess what pests and diseases attack red chili plants. Therefore, the author proposes an expert system to diagnose pests and diseases in red chili plants using the Certainty Factor method to perform calculations by providing an expert's level of confidence. The expert system connects symptoms and diseases as well as solutions for controlling pests and diseases of red chili plants. The results of this study are a website-based system by applying the Certainty Factor method which can run well, the system can diagnose according to the symptoms obtained and perform tests that result in the percentage in Case 1 being affected by earthworms of 92.98%.} }
