After the operation has been running for more than 10 years, there are problems that occur in the condenser, for example leakage of the tube causing plugging, condenser vacuum down, condensate water contaminated, fouling in the condenser tube and corrosion in the condenser wall which can reduce system performance in transferring heat thus reducing its effectiveness, among others, the Overall Heat Transfer Coefficient (U) is reduced, because it was re-designed on the Unit 1 PLTU condenser, in the design of this condenser, the calculation process is carried out using thermodynamic analysis and heat transfer using the LMTD (Logaritmic Mean Temperature Difference method) ) with variations in speed and diameter in the condenser tube to get a new dimension of the condenser. The NTU (Number Transfer Unit) method is used for the condenser performance analysis that has been designed. Pressure drop calculation results are also carried out to determine the pressure loss on the condenser. The results of this research calculation are verified using software simulation methods developed by Heat Transfer Research Inc. (HTRI) Xchanger suite 7.0 licensend to HHI.co LTD. The simulation will be the performance of the heat exchanger, it will describe the optimal conditions to get a good heat exchanger performance. Redesign heat transfer value obtained by the LMTD method is 4041.07 W /m2 °C and its effectiveness with the ?-NTU method is 0.78 or 78%.} }
