Calculation of performance in the current generator is based on the first law of thermodynamics, namely by energy analysis. The author wants to apply exergy based on the thermodynamic Law II to determine the accuracy of the plant efficiency in block 5 of the Muara Tawar PLTGU. What is counted in the calculations are the main components including compressor, gas turbine, combustor, HRSG, HP pump, LP pump, condensate pump, steam turbine, condenser, and PLTGU cycle.The exergy analysis calculation method is more detailed and accurate than the energy analysis, because the exergy analysis uses environmental conditions namely temperature, pressure, and chemical reactions in its calculations. So as to know the destruction of energy in each of its components. The biggest exergy destruction is in combustor which is 238,39 MW, it is caused by the fuel that does not burn completely, and loss of heat to the surrounding area through the combustion process. The efficiency of the exergy cycle is 46,31% smaller than the energy cycle efficiency of 53,48%. That happens because the efficiency of exergy takes into account the destruction of exergy throughout the system.} }
