After the gas turbine generator was running normally and rotated the generator, then the generator was paralleled with the system to be loaded. To rotate the gas turbine at the start period was required the activator motor which rotated a turbine axis because the turbine axis was united with a generator?s axis. In its development, it was obtained the ways to start the gas turbine in which Muara Tawar 5 blocks utilized a synchronous generator for use as motors start. This starting method used Static Frequency Converters (SFC), a thyristor converter which consisted of rectifier and inverter connected by a direct current intermediate circuit which functioned as Starting Device System which was connected directly to the coil of generator stator to inject a frequency that can be set. In addition, on the winding rotor was injected direct current came from the rectifier or self strengthening (static excitation) which has the same axis with synchronous machine rotor.} }
