Partial discharge becomes a problem that can cause a generator operating failure. Off-line partial discharge measurement (off-line PD) is one of reliable tools used to diagnose partial dicharges? activities in the generator. This thesis discusses an analysis partial discharge on PLTA Cirata?s generator unit 5 with a capacity of 140 MVA, 16.5 kV. Partial discharge test results seen in phase V, QPEAK most reach the value 1.108 ?C at the test voltage 0.6Un (9.9 kV). Interpretation of the test results is mainly based on pattern recognition method which is achieved by comparing measured recorded phaseresolved partial discharge patterns (PRPD patterns) with typical PRPD patterns illustrated in Omicron Academy based on standard IEC 60034 - 27. It was found that recorded PRPD patterns corresponded with visual inspection results where most of PDs were surface discharges in stator end winding areas.} }
