The load on each distribution substation is not the same magnitude either in terms of active power or reactive power. By placing the capacitor in the medium voltage network it is expected that the reactive power load can be reduced and the loss of power in the network also decreases. The capacitor is placed in a medium voltage network and is provided with the facility to remove and insert part or all of the load breaker (PMT) from operation depending on the load changes in one day. From this research, the optimum capacitor placement in 20 kV medium tension network in PT PLN Area Sukabumi Penyulang Cipanengah is located in substation of ST and DLH distribution because of this substation has seen a decrease of voltage equal to 4% and also at this substation is the middle point of penyulang area sukabumi cipanengah. With the installation of this capacitor also has the effect of voltage drop at the end of the network and loss-loss power. One of them on the RAK distribution substation, the voltage of 2.86% or equal to 0.572 KV and loss of power loss of 0.005 KW and 0.007 KVAR. Then after installation the voltage reduction capacitor at the end of the network at the RAK distribution substation of 1.29% or equal to 0.258 kV and loss of power loss of 0.004 KW and 0.006 KVAR. So at the RAK distribution post before the installed and after installed the capacitor has a voltage increase of 1.57% or 0.314 kV and decrease in loss-power loss of 0.001 Kw and 0.001 Kvar.} }
