		abstract={Steel industry is a vital industry in every country. Wherein the process of steel production, special tools are necessary. One of them is furnace, this thesis will be concerned with design of the electrical installation of the said furnace. Electrical installation is an imperative part in electrical distribution, in which the designing process of electrical installation must comply with Persyaratan Umum Instalasi Listrik (PUIL), in order to protect human workers and existing equipments in the steel factory. In this designing process, calculations of load currents, short circuits, etc are also necessary to find out correct equipments? to use. In this matter, environmental condition and index protection that is related to dusty environment and high temperature need to be closely looked. This thesis also will be talking about how to design a safe electrical installation based on PUIL.}
