		abstract={ABSTRACT
This research aims to know students academic word list achievement of
second and fourth semester of English depertment. The research design was
descriptive quantitative with constributed a questionnairre and test. The
population of this research were second and the fourth semester of English
depertment with the total 212 students. The sample in this research were 71
students and it was taken by random sampling. To collect the data, the present
researcher gave the close-ended questionnaire and matching word test as the
instruments. The data were calculated by Microsoft Excel and SPSS 22 for
Windows.The results of questionnairre indicated that were 43.29% students had
knowledge about academic word list and 53.24% students less knowledge of
academic word list in second semester. Meanwhile, from the fourth semester
showed that there were 46.31% students had know about academic word list.
Whereas, there were 53.42% students less knowledge of the acedemic word list.
Moreover, based on the results of test indicated from second and fourth semester,
the students more acquired the score between 51-70. It indicated the students’s
achievement of academic word list was avarage. It means that the student’s
knowledge of academic word list needs improving.
