Keyword: Yourself in the picture, writting and recount text This study aims at examining the effectiveness of the use of put yourselfin thepicture in student writing skill. This reasech is used in-expermental reaseachdesign. The test has done twice: they are before treatmen and after treatemen.The population of this reseach covered all of student at the seventh grade ofSMPN 1 Labuhan Haji in the academic year 2020-2021. The sample was oneclass consisted of 30 students. The technique of collecting data was done byadministering pre-test and post-test to determine themean score. Paired sample t-test was used to prove whether the alternative hypothesis was accepted or not.The result data analysis by using paired sample t-test showed that there was asignificant differences in the mean scores between the pre-test and post-test inwhicht (df=19)= 21,559 at p = 0,000: its mean that the null hypothesis wasrejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. It means that put yourselfin the picture was significantly effective in teaching writing recount text for theseventh graders of SMPN 1 Labuhan Haji in the school year 2020-2021. Thus,it is suggested that the teacher use put yourself in the picture in teaching writingin language learning because it helps students to express their ideas and canbecome more active in teaching learning process especially in writing skill.} }
