In this research, the researcher used classroom action research. The research was done through in two cycles at the eighth grade students of SMP PGRI 2 Karangmalang Sragen in the academic year 2015/2016 from January until June 2016. The research was held in the second semester of the eighth grade students of SMP PGRI 2 Karangmalang in the academic year 2015/2016. Each cycle consisted of three meetings. Each cycle consisted of: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Technique of collecting the data used test, observation and interview. The researcher analyzed the data both qualitatively and quantitatively. The researcher gave pre-test, test cycle 1 and test cycle 2 especially in narrative text to measure students’ writing ability. The result of the test showed that (1) the implementation of scrambled picture was trough three activities. They are pre activity, main activity and post activity. The students were divided into groups randomly by counted one by one then after that each group was given scrambled pictures of a narrative text then they arranged the pictures in good order after that they write the story. (2)there was improvement of the students’ writing ability in narrative text. The improvement could be seen from the mean score of the students’ pre-test was 60.81 and the mean score of the students’ post-test I was 67.36 and posttest II was 78,60 . The result of the mean score of the students’ post-test was higher if it was compared with from the mean score of the students’ pre-test. Thus it can be concluded that the students’ score was improved.} }
