		abstract={The existence of supporting facilities is a reason for tourists to visit tourist areas. Indonesia, which is an archipelagic country, actually still has many areas that must be further developed in the tourism sector, such as Pandang Island and Salah Namo Island, Batubara Regency, North Sumatra Province. Pandang Island and Salah Namo Island have considerable potential as marine tourism objects, where both islands have stunning coral reefs and the water is turquoise and clear so that tourists can see the coral reefs on the seabed.
To further increase the number of tourists visiting, it is necessary to have additional tourist facilities in the form of a more modern ferry boat (passenger boat) than the previous ship which still uses traditional boats. To get the main size of the ship, that is by using the parent design approach method, which is to use displacement as a reference point or value (x).
Then the main size of the ship is obtained, namely Lpp = 21,06 m, B = 3,57 m, H = 1,14 m, T = 0,54 m, then carry out the ferry ship design process using Maxsurf and AutoCAD software and carry out the running process to get obstacles ship using the max surf resistance software to get the appropriate engine specifications, and the final result of the ship's stability meets the conditions shown in the pass statement at each tilt angle based on the IMO (International Maritime Organization) A.749 standard.}
