The tool for welding steel pipes uses a chuck lathe as a pipe chuck holder which is driven by a DC electric motor with a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) speed control system or a dimmer. The pipe used for welding is a maximum diameter of 10? inches. Good welding speed 250 mm/min. Run out on the highest gripper is an angle of 8 ? 9 with a run out of 0.63 mm. For welding 4? inch diameter steel pipe with a thickness of 2 mm, a good weld is between 07-09 rpm. Other welding results have different surface smoothness and flatness. Obtained from several tests carried out, there are 3 variations in speed, namely 8, 10 and 12 rpm with a range of speed units, namely: 250, 303 and 357 mm/minute. This steel pipe welding tool is made to use variations in rotation speed which is controlled by Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) / dimmer speed control. The maximum rotation speed obtained by this steel pipe welding tool is 100 rpm.} }
