		abstract={Palm oil sticks are one of the main ingredients that can be used in making various kinds of handicraft products that have functional value if managed properly. People who live in oil palm plantations, especially women, try to help their family's economy by taking the time to collect palm sticks to be processed into brooms, plates, and fans. Before processing, the palm sticks must be separated from the leaves first. To help make the work easier, a palm stick sharpener machine using a steel brush is designed. To drive this tool, a 0.5 hp electric motor with a speed of 1330 Rpm is used. This tool can produce 440 sticks per hour. This machine uses 7 steel brushes as cutting blades, this steel brush is on a shaft driven by a 0.5 hp electric motor which is transmitted by a 3 inch pulley and a 45B v belt to move the shaft, so that it moves around clockwise the shaft. The driving power of this palm stick sharpener machine is 0.37 kw and the rotation of the drive shaft is 1330 rpm.}
