		abstract={This study aims to analyze the effect of austerity budgets on emotional exhaustion through role conflict as a mediating variable. This study uses a population of manufacturing companies in Banyumas Regency through purposive sampling. The company data obtained were 63 medium and large scale manufacturing companies in Banyumas Regency. Company data processing using the Smart PLS analysis tool. The results of this study indicate that budgetary tightness has a positive and significant effect on emotional exhaustion, budgetary tightness has a positive and significant effect on role conflict and role conflict has a positive effect on emotional exhaustion. Meanwhile, the effect of role conflict cannot mediate the relationship between budgetary tightening and emotional exhaustion.
