One of the most important components in an EDF system is a fan. The selection of fan design configurations on the EDF will have a major effect on the thrust generated. To fulfil their propulsion needs, one usually buys a propulsion system from a manufacturer that is not satisfy the DRO (design requirements and objectives) of the flying vehicles. It is necessary to have a rotor (fan) from EDF that is in accordance with DRO, so a fan design is needed on EDF. Therefore, research was carried out on the design of an EDF fan with a diameter of 90 mm. The designed fan has a diameter of 90 mm with 4 blades, the size of the hub / tip is 0,5. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant difference in the thrust value between theoretical calculations and computational fluid dynamics(CFD) simulation. At a design rotation of 38850 rpm, from the momentum theory of the blade element, a thrust of 36 N was obtained, while numerically simulation using ANSYS software obtained a thrust of 30,476 N. The discrepancy was due to improrer shape of the spinner, tailcone, bellmouth, stator and fan?s duct.} }
