In operation, the fuel control unit FCU is required to have high reliability in its work function, while on the one hand it has the possibility of failure. This study aims to determine the causes of failure of the fuel control unit component on the Boeing 737-900ER aircraft. The method used in this research is Failure Mode Effect Analysis FMEA and fishbone diagram. The results of this research there are 15 problems with the fuel control unit, namely the Fuel Solenoid Valve component with failed on failure, open circuit, high current. Fuel Temperature Sensor components with short circuit failure, out if range high and out if range low. Fuel Metering Valve Component with torque motor failure shows low side grounded/high side grounded, open circuit, short circuit and failed on. Flowmeter Pressurizing Valve and Flowmeter components with shorted failure, open circuit, twisted or bad looking circuit, and shorted when grounded. The Inlet Fuel Filter Component is due to failure to turn on due to blockage, and other problems. In the process of failure mode analysis using the FMEA method, the highest RPN Risk Priority Number value was obtained, namely the flowmeter pressurizing valve and flowmeter components having an RPN value of 128. The cause of problems with the flowmeter pressurizing valve and flowmeter components is damage to the wiring electronic control unit is disconnected, and the wire the harness is faulty, and there is a problem in the fuel control unit.} }
