On the other hand, there is biomass energy renewable energy with a fairly abundant quantity and cannot be optimized in its use. One of the uses of biomass energy is the manufacture of bioarang briquettes. The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of the pressing pressure of charcoalbriquettes on the composition of a mixture of tobacco stem waste and corn cobs on calorific value, moisture content, ash content, and combustion rate. This study employed an experimental method by mixing charcoal from tobacco stem waste and corn cobs on the composition of 50: 50 %, tapioca flour adhesives as 15 gr, and charcoal briquettes weight of20 gr. The results showed that the pressing pressure felt affected the characteristics of charcoal briquettes, the higher the pressing pressure, the higher the calorific value, and density, while the water content and ash content were lower. All the tests have met the Indonesian national standard SNI charcoal briquette quality standard No.1/6235/2000, with the best results at the pressure variation of 2000 psi with the water content test value of 7.8%, ash content of 8.6%, calorific value of 5633.1674 cal/gr, and density of 0.5347 gr/cm3 .} }
