The stress intensity factor (KI ) is a value that indicates the intensity of stress used at the end of the crack with a certain shape and size. The purpose of the test is to investigate the comparation of Fractural Work and Stress Intensity Factor. The specimens used are aluminum 1xxx and 3xx.x series. The tensile test was performed using a double notch with 45° angle and ± 5 mm notch length (a). The notch was made using self-modifying files and sandpaper. The method of calculating the fractural work was a software called ImageJ. The result of the calculation showed that the fractural work (W) value of the aluminum 3xx.x series (460.52 kJ/m2 ) was higher than the aluminum 1xxx series (247.58 kJ/m2 ). The Stress Intensity Factor (KI ) value of aluminum 3xx.x series (24.30 MPa.Vm) was higher than that of the aluminum 1xxx series (17.90 MPa.Vm). Based on the calculation of the Fractural Work (W) and the Stress Intensity Factor (KI ), it could be concluded that the aluminum 3xx.x series was tougher than the aluminum 1xxx} }
