The metal has certain properties that are distinguished by physical, mechanical, thermal and corrosive properties. One of these important properties is mechnical properties. The mechanical properties consist of ductility,hardness, strength and toughness. The specimens used are aluminum 1xxx series. The tensile test are performed using single and double notch with 45° angle and ± 5 mm notch length (a). The notch is made using self-modifying files and sandpaper. The method of calculating the fractural work is a software called ImageJ. The result of the calculation showed that the fractural work (W) value of the aluminum 1xxx series with single notch was 298,96 kJ/m2 . It was higher than the aluminum 1xxx series double notches as 247.58 kJ/m2 . The Stress Intensity Factor (KI ) value of aluminum 1xxx series with double notches was 40,68 MPa.Vm.
