		abstract={Background: knowledge of mother is needed for the development of their children therefore the level of mother's education also affects the mother's knowledge, several factors that influence early childhood development include maternal nutrition during pregnancy, environmental, physical, psychosocial, and family. The toddler period is a critical period 
where necessary stimulation which is useful for developing potential, that require attention. From the results of the survay in kindergartens As Salam Diponegoro, Kembaran, Banyumas, there are 6 women who do not know about child development and also there are 3 children who have developmental disorders.
Objective: To determine the relationship of the level of mother's education and knowledge about the development of children aged 5 years in kindergarten foundation As Salam Diponegoro, Kembaran, Banyumas in 2013.
Methods: This study used a analytic correlational design With the cross-sectional approach. This type of primary data collection directly to the respondents in kindergarten Foundation As Salam Diponegoro. Analysis univariate and bivariate with analysis of the data Spearman Rank sample size of 35 mothers and infants, sampling technique using total 
sampling. 
Results: From the results, the majority of mothers (48.6%) good knowledge, The majority (31.4%) mothers had elementary and junior high majority (54.3%) had a corresponding progression. There is a relationship between maternal education on the development of children to aged 5 years with ? = 0,001 (< 0,05) then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. There is a relationship between mothers' knowledge on the development of 
children to aged 5 years with ? = 0,027 (< 0,05) then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected.
Conclusion: There is a relationship between of the level of mother's education and knowledge about the development of children aged 5 years in kindergarten foundation As Salam Diponegoro, Kembaran, Banyumas in 2013.}
