		abstract={Background : Premature birth is the leading cause of neonatal mortality and morbidity of infants around the world. This is related to the immaturity of the baby's organs such as the lungs, brain and gastrointestinal. One of the factors that are believed related to the incidence of prematurity is the age of the mother. There are 198 cases of prematurity in Hospital Dr. R. Goeteng Taroenadibrata Purbalingga in 2011.
Objective : This study aims to determine the relationship between maternal age with the incidence of prematurity in Hospital Dr. R. Goeteng Taroenadibrata Purbalingga in 2012.
Methods : The method used was a descriptive correlational With the crosssectional approach. This study uses primary data taken in July 2013 at the Hospital Dr. R. Goeteng Taroenadibrata Purbalingga in 2012. The sample in this study a total of 295 respondents drawn using simple random sampling technique.
Results : The results showed that the incidence of prematurity than 170 mostly occurs in young reproductive age were 58 respondents (34.1%) And as many as 69 respondents (40.6%) in the high risk of reproductive age. Statistical test using the chi square test p value of 0.000 indicates that there is significant or meaningful relationships.
Conclusion : There is a relationship between maternal age with the incidence of prematurity in Hospital Dr. R. Goeteng Taroenadibrata Purbalingga in 2012.}
