Hemodialysis can have an effect on physical, physiological and psychological changes. This can affect a person's self-concept which consists of self-image, self-ideal, self-esteem, self-role and self-identity. Objective: To analyze the self-concept description of patients undergoing hemodialysis at Siti Fatimah Hospital Palembang. Methods: Analytical descriptive quantitative research with a cross sectional approach, the sampling technique used total sampling with a total sample of 30 respondents based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The analysis used was univariate. Results: Characteristics of respondents male sex as many as 20 respondents (66.7%), with the youngest age 22 years and the oldest age 75 years, long history of hemodialysis 1-96 months with education level mostly high school as many as 12 respondents (40%), for self-concept consists of: having a positive self-image 28 respondents (93.3%), having a positive self-ideal 25 respondents (83.3%), having positive self-esteem 27 respondents (90%), having a positive self role 23 respondents (7 6.7%), and 22 respondents (73.3%) had a positive self-identity. Suggestion: It is recommended that respondents have independence, manage and accept themselves, respect themselves and not have the assumption that they are different from other people.
