If the tourniquet is applied for more than 1 minute, it can cause hemoconcentration. From several studies, it was stated that different containment times during the blood sampling process, some stated that there was a difference and some stated that there was no difference. This research was conducted with the aim of wanting to know the results of hematocrit examination on venous blood samples with 50 second and 80 second containment. Purpose: this study wanted to know the results of hematocrit examination in venous blood samples with 50 seconds and 80 seconds containment. Method: This type of research is observational using the ?Cross Sectional? approach. The research subjects used were 32 students of the DIV Study Program of Medical Laboratory Technology, Faculty of Health Sciences, Catholic University of Musi Charitas Palembang. The subjects of the study were taken blood after fulfilling the inclusion and exclusion criteria, then the subjects were taken blood at 50 seconds and 80 seconds swaddling, the blood samples were collected or accommodated or collected in 1 tube "Clot activator". Results: The results show that at 50 seconds containment 38.00% and at 80 seconds containment 38.19%. The data was analyzed and showed no difference in the hematocrit examination at 50 seconds and 80 seconds of containment. Conclusion : Based on the results of the study there is no difference in 50 second and 80 second damming with a value (sig 2 tailed) 0,98>0,05 Suggestion : tourniquet dam for 80 seconds over a minute can used to check the Hematocrit} }
