		abstract={In communication, a language has variation. One of the variations of language is register. Register is one of the language varieties that are used by the people, professions or social groups in particular settings and situations. This condition will make certain community prefer to use a 
particular variety of language because they can speak the same code and respect to be members of the same community more easily. The use of language by particular community that is based on the functional variety of speech can be found in the rafting community in nature lover?DIMPA? of University of Muhammadiyah Malang. This study was intended to investigate the registers used by the rafting community and the meanings. 
In this research, the researcher used the descriptive qualitative research design to collect the data because it employed observation, interview, and recording what happened in the object of this research. The researcher used participant observation and unstructured interview. Here, the research subjects were three members of the rafting community who have rafting skill and still actively participate in rafting activities in DIMPA and also use the registers regularly. They were one male and two female informants who have full of information needed in this research. 
The result of this research shown that there were 97 registers found in the rafting community in nature lover ?DIMPA? of university of Muhammadiyah Malang. All of the registers were of English words. And the meanings of the English registers in this research include denotation and 
association meaning.}
