Contract employees should be engaged with their work and the organization to be able to provide the best performance, so as to maintain the continuity of work. There are several factors of work engagement according to the JD-R model, one of them is a personal resource which includes proactive personality. The purpose of this study was to determine the proactive personality prediction of work engagement on contract employees. This research used a quantitative-correlationalresearch design, with a purposive sampling technique. The criteria of the subject were employees with contract status, had worked for at least one year, and were aged between 18-40 years. Total subjects in this study were 200 people. The research instruments used were Proactive Personality Scale (PPS) and Utrech Work Engagement Scale (UWES-17). The analysis test using linear regression showsthat proactive personality can positively and significantly predict workengagement. This showsthat the more proactive employees are, the more engage they willbe with their work and the organization.
