If individual does not have the ability to cope with all of those challenges, it will evoke problems and become stressors that could lead to psychological distress. So, to face with those challenges, the students need social support that comes from family, friends, or significant others (e.g: spouse or other special person). Furthermore, it is predicted that students’s perception about the availability of social support they have, take a role in reducing the experience of psychological distress on students at the lowest level. Based on the explanation, this study aims to determine the correlation between perceived social support and students’s psychological distress. The research subject were 296 active students from undergraduated program in Muhammadiyah Malang University, class of 2016, 2017, and 2018. The sampling technique used was proportionate stratified random sampling. The instruments that used to collect data was Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support and Hopkins Symptoms Checklist-25 (HSCL-25). The result from data analysis using product moment pearson correlation shows that there is a negative relation between perceived social support and students’s psychological distress (r = -0.177; p < 0.05).} }
