This relates to the certainty of their positions upfront. Therefore contracted employees may have varying IUs which ultimately affect the PI of employees. PI is the behavior of someone who takes an active approach and starts himself for work goals and tasks and persists in overcoming obstacles and setbacks. People who are intolerant of things that are uncertain will tend to believe that they cannot overcome uncertain conditions and ultimately tend to fail to provide effective responses in overcoming this condition (IU). This study aims to determine the effect of IU on PIs on contract employees. This research used inferential quantitative research design, with a purposive sampling technique and linear regression analysis test. Research subjects were 153 contract employees who had worked for at least 6 months at companies X and Y in Malang. The research instruments used were personal initiative scale and IUS-12. The results show that there is a negative influence between IU on PI on contract employees. This means that the higher the employee responds to uncertainty as a negative thing to watch out for because it is considered a threat to himself in the future (IU), the lower the employee's tendency to act independently, is always proactive and can be persistent in overcoming obstacles that arise when pursuing goals he wants to be achieved (PI). The influence of IU on PI was 3.2%.} }
