The purpose of this study is to describe the application of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model and describe the improvement of students' poetry writing skills. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a research design using Kemmis and Taggart models in 2 cycles. Data collection tools in the study were tests, observation, documentation and interviews. Participants in this study were all students of class V, which amounted to 27 people consisting of 12 male students and 15 female students. The results of the research on the pretest of students showed learning completeness obtained by as many as 8 students (29.63%), 19 students or (70.37%) not yet completed, in sisklus I there was an increase in mastery acquisition, namely 17 students (63%) and 10 students or (37%) have not yet finished, then in post I got completeness of 19 students or (70%) and 8 students or (30%) have not been completed, in cycle II obtained completeness of 22 students (81%) and 5 students have not completed, but based on the results of the post test obtained 27 students completeness (100%). The conclusion of this study is that by applying the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model, it can improve poetry writing skills in fifth grade students in Cimanggah Elementary School 2, Sukabumi City 2017/2018 academic year.} }
