This study used a qualitative research method conducted at SMP Negeri 22 Surakarta. The main subjects in this study were the principal and teachers. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique in this study used an analytical model, namely data collection, data reduction and data presentation and conclusions. The validity of the data in research with data triangulation. The results of this study are: (1) Planning for character education starts from making learning administration through workshops at the beginning of the semester with the results in the form of learning tools in the form of a syllabus, semester program, annual program, lesson plans and character familiarization program (2) Implementation of character education is carried out based on the plan. Learning programs that are made with attention to the objectives, materials, methods, media and assessment and habituation of character planting with various activities to familiarize the character (3) Curriculum evaluation is carried out by the principal through supervision activities to determine the achievement of the curriculum and as a reference in carrying out follow-up improvements.} }
