Food is a basic human need, food is a source of energy and nutritional intake for the human body's needs to remain alive and active. Nutritious and quality food helps the human body grow healthily. Health is a right for every citizen. The rise of expired food products circulating in society causes various problems. Expired food products are products that are not safe for consumption. Consuming expired food can cause health problems such as poisoning. Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection has regulated various matters regarding efforts to protect consumers. Consumer protection is a form of consumer protection effort which is expected to be able to protect consumer rights and overcome problems that are detrimental to consumers, especially related to expired food products circulating in the community. This form of legal protection for consumers is divided into two, namely preventive and repressive legal protection.} }
