		abstract={(ABSTRAKSI) Kegagalan proyek teknologi informasi dapat disebabkan oleh beragam hal.
Salah satunya adalah eskalasi komitmen proyek, yaitu proyek yang secara terusmenerus
menyerap sumber daya, baik tenaga kerja maupun materi, tanpa
memberikan hasil yang sepadan. Sebuah model eskalasi komitmen proyek yang
diperkenalkan dalam beberapa literatur digunakan kembali untuk meneliti sebuah
kasus proyek yang dikerjakan oleh sebuah perusahaan konsultan teknologi
informasi. Model ini digunakan sebagai dasar untuk mengkaji kembali faktorfaktor
apa saja yang memicu eskalasi komitmen proyek. Sebagai hasil penelitian,
eskalasi komitmen proyek dipicu oleh kombinasi dari empat faktor utama, yaitu:
proyek, psikologi, sosial, dan organisasi. Pada penelitian ini, variabel pada
masing-masing faktor dijabarkan lebih luas dari kombinasi beberapa sumber
literatur yang ada guna menemukan variabel yang secara positif memicu eskalasi
proyek sekaligus menemukan variabel baru yang belum pernah dibahas dalam
literatur sebelumnya. Pada akhirnya, terdapat saran yang relevan bagi pengambil
keputusan untuk menghindari jebakan eskalasi komitmen dalam proyek TI. (ABSTRACT) Information technology project failures can be caused by various things.
One is the escalation of commitment, the project is constantly absorbing the
resources, both labor and materials, without commensurate results. A model of the
escalation of commitment in project which was introduced in the literature are
used again to investigate a case of a project done by an information technology
consulting firm. This model is used as a basis to review any factors that trigger the
escalation of commitment. As a result of research, project commitment escalation
is triggered by a combination of four main factors, namely: project, psychological,
social, and organizational. In this study, the variables in each of the factors set out
wider than the combination of several sources of existing literature to find the
variables that positively trigger the escalation of commitment while finding a new
variable that has not been discussed in previous literature. In the end, there are
suggestions that are relevant to decision-makers to avoid the trap of escalation of
commitment in an IT project.}
