ABSTRACT Curriculum 2013 is the latest curriculum implemented by the Ministry of Education and Culture. However, the curriculum raises pros and cons on its implementation, including its learning materials that are distributed in schools. Basic competencies applied in such curriculum that are perceived as too tough by many teachers and students, especially due to the variety of students' background. Some of them have had a foundation to learn Arabic and some other do not. Therefore, teachers are required to be earnest in achieving the goal of the basic competence. This research is conducted to answer the following problems: (1) How is the Arabic textbook of Curriculum 2013 applied in MAN 1 Probolinggo? (2) What are the problems faced by students in the implementation of Arabic textbook of Curriculum 2013 at MAN 1 Probolinggo?. Furthermore, this study is intended to describe and reveal: (1) analysis of the implementation of the Arabic textbook of curriculum 2013 at MAN 1 Probolinggo, (2) the analysis of the problems faced by the students in the implementation of the Arabic textbook of curriculum in 2013 at MAN 1 Probolinggo. This study uses descriptive analysis method with qualitative approach. The data source consists of primary data source taken from interviews with the Arabic language teachers and students of MAN 1 Probolinggo. The instruments used are: interviews, documentation, and triangulation with the form of data analysis which are data reduction, data presentation, and data conclusion. The result of this study indicates the implementation of Arabic textbook of curriculum 2013 as below: (1) Implementation of Arabic textbook of curriculum 2013 at MAN 1 Probolinggo is in accordance with the needs of teachers. It can be seen that the Arabic textbook of curriculum 2013 consists of basic capabilities, standard indicators of efficiency and educational purposes, the process of education, educational materials, calendars, the correct answer, review, year, and the interaction between teachers and parents. In addition, it is also the explanation for each section or chapter taught. (2) The problems faced by students are: difficulty in understanding the content of textbooks and translating sentences and vocabularies, the use of instructional media is considered unattractive, less explanation from the teacher on grammar of Arabic language, less conversation in Arabic, difficulty in pronouncing the Arabic well, drowsiness, lack of understanding, sick, broken home, differences in educational background of the student. ABSTRAK Kurikulum 2013 adalah kurikulum terbaru yang diterapkan oleh Kementrian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan. akan tetapi kurikulum 2013 menuai pro kontra dalam penerapannya, termasuk bahan ajar kurikulum 2013 yang disebar di sekolah-sekolah. Kompetensi dasar yang diterapkan dalam kurikulum tersebut banyak dirasa oleh guru-guru dan para siswa-siswi terlalu sulit, terlebih latar belakang siswa-siswa yang berbeda.
