ABSTRACT

The society of Blabak vilalage, Kandat district, Kediri has rule and tradition of ban on marriage " kebo mbalik kandang " is it forbidden to marry, if his father or his mother come from the village of the bride conversely. The existence of a tradition of course has the purpose itself for society. The society of blabak kandat kediri believed if the marriage ban is still violated or still keep doing it is said that his marriage will bring a disaster, example livelihood isn't fluent. death, sick that doesn't heal,etc. there is no clear source since the beginning of this marriage ban ,however the society is still preserving until now.

The purpose of this research is to knowing the construction of the society in Blabak village kandat district Kediri Region related to ban on marriage " kebo mbalik kandang ".

The approach and type of research used in this research is empirical qualitative. The collecting of data by using observation and interviewed then we analyzed by social contruction theory.

Based on the results of this study have found some things as follows : construction of society about ban on marriage " kebo mbalik kandang " in Blabak Kandat Kediri formed by three stages, the first moment of externalization of self - adaption to the sociocultural world namely adjustment to oral understanding extreme interpretation of the Al-Qur?an,then an understanding of the moral values contained ban on marriage "kebo mbalik kandang",then the second stage of the moment objectivity or the process of self - interaction with the sociocultural world,which produces public awareness than the ban on marriage "kebo mbalik kandang" besides of considered as form adherence to parents,also as awareness of impact or benefit experienced when violate or evacuate so it has become a habit of society spontaneously which gave birth to conviction. The last stage is moment of internalization or self identification with the sociocultural world. this process gave birth to some typology of society among others the society of java that preserves ban on marriage without any room at all against violators,modern society that doesn't believe of ban on marriage , and for the java who still believed preserve ban on marriage " kebo mbalik kandang " by spiritual engineering to people who want to break the ban on marriage

ABSTRAK

Masyarakat Desa Blabak Kecamatan Kandat Kabupaten Kediri mempunyai aturan atau tradisi larangan perkawinan Kebo Balik Kandang. Yaitu dilarang menikah, jika ayah atau ibu mempelai laki laki berasal dari Desa mempelai perempuan atau sebaliknya. Adanya suatu tradisi tentunya mempunyai tujuan tersendiri bagi masyarakat. Masyarakat Desa Blabak mempercayai bahwa apabila larangan pernikahan tersebut tetap dilanggar atau tetap dilakukan, konon perkawinannya akan mendatangkan mala petaka, seperti rizki tidak lancar, kematian, sakit yang tak kunjung sembuh dan lain sebagainya. Tidak ada sumber yang jelas sejak kapan awal mula larangan perkawinan ini, akan tetapi masyarakat masih melestarikan sampai sekarang.
