ABSTRACT

Early marriage has become accustomed in Madura, as  happened in Poreh village one of them is A.N and I.M couple. A.N get married when He was 18 years old. In article 7 act Number 1 year 1974 explained that marriage can be implemented if the bride aged 16 years old and the groom aged 19 years old. Whereas, to eccelerate the implementation of marriage they add the age in their marriage certificate without asking marriage dispensation to religious court. This carried out to diminish malo (ashamed) and tade? ajhinah (insult to the family) in social environment that caused of Marriage By Accident and to get registered marriage.

From mentioned problem, the writer proposes two formulation of the problems; 1) How is the Early marriage phenomena happened in Poreh village, Lenteng District, Sumenep Regency, Madura? 2) How is the Early marriage phenomena happened in Poreh village, Lenteng District, Sumenep Regency, Madura in structural functionalism Perspective?

The type of this research is empirical research by using qualitative approach and case study. Primary data collected from informants by using interview, observation and documentation method. The analysis is done by classifying the data after checking the data validity by using triangulation of source data. Then analyzed with Structural Functionalism of Talcott Parsons and conclusion.

The result of this research reveals two findings; 1) The early marriage phenomena happened in Poreh village is a marriage that performed by young couple ?under the age of 16 years old (women) and under the age of 19 years old (men)?. parents marry off their young children caused of accident. It becomes moral burden which cause shamed and tade? ajhinah,so that they get teasing of the social environment. To diminish the insults they marry them immediately even they are still young. Nevertheless, they add the age in their marriage certificate. 2). structural functionalism of Early marriage, the first, Adaptation; The adaptation process of marriage by accident actors to the social system. i.e.  married by adding his/her age. The Second Goal-Attainment; This marriage aims to get registered marriage and to improve the family dignity. The Third, Integration; the disintegration of social system functions and the system functions within organizational structure (KUA). It due one of the structural functions is not running stable, so that causing a conflict. The Fourth, Latency; Madurese must maintain and sustain well-regarded cultural patterns such as their obedience and the reverence both of  their own dignity and others.
