ABSTRACT Character education is the process of planting good values, which include components of knowledge, awareness or willingness and action to implement the values that have been taught. In an effort to realize the implementation of character education in schools, we need a model that will be the reference or patterns in forming concepts to be used for aducate characters. Therefore, this study aims to find: (1) Model of character education in Pondok Modern Al-Sheikh Abdul Wahid, (2) The values of character implanted, (3) Shape model implementation ofcharacter education in pondok modern, and (4) implication model of character education to students in pondok modern Al-Sheikh abdul Wahid. This study used qualitative methods, case study type with a single case design. Data collected by in-depth interviews, participant observation and documentation. Data were analyzed using an interactive model that consists of collecting data (data collection), reducing the data (data reduction), the present data (data display), and concluded (conclusion). Checking the validity of test data is done with credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. These results indicate that: (1) Model of character education is the reference implementation of character education in pondok modern Al-Sheikh Abdul Wahid includes six things, like implement education system by Boarding school with 24-hour supervision, coaching with the enforcement of discipline, familiarize students by activities inside of pondok modern, provide exemplary in educating the beginning of exemplary teachers, reward and punishment, and learning with CTL model. (2) The character values are instilled through the model of character education in pondok modern Al-Sheikh Abdul Wahid, among others as a religious character, discipline, self-reliant, social care, care for the environment, tolerance, love reading, curiosity, communicative / friendly , And Responsibility. The cornerstone of the values of the character comes from the philosophy and values of the five souls cottage, such as: sincerity, simplicity, self-sufficient, islamic brotherhood, and liberty, (3) The implementation of character education in the pondok modern is done through three aspects: through the teaching and learning activities , extracurricular activities, and the activities of religious students who carried out through the program daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly, (4) Implications Model Character Education gave the first impact, on the personality Pupils of them, Both impact on the achievement of students can be seen from the achievements ABSTRAK Pendidikan karakter adalah proses penanaman nilai-nilai, baik yang meliputi komponen pengetahuan, kesadaran atau kemauan serta tindakan untuk melaksanakan nilai-nilai yang telah diajarkan.
