ABSTRACT The government policies (Culture and education minister) revitalize the education character in all types and education levels are positive, including the development of curriculum of 2013 that emphasizes education character, especially at the primary level as a foundation to the next level. Character education in the curriculum of 2013 aimed to improve the quality of the process and outcomes of education, which leads to the formation of character and noble character of learners as a whole, integrated, and balanced, in accordance with competency standards in each educational system. Qualitative research methodology is a procedure that produces descriptive qualitative data in the form of words written or spoken people and behavior observed. Based on the explanation of this research used a qualitative research approach, because the researcher wanted to describe a phenomenon in accordance with the actual situation experienced by research subjects and presented the data in the form of words. Another reason, the researcher chosen this kind of research, because researcher wanted to examine the condition of natural objects based on observations and interviews, the researcher as a key instrument. Planning learning in the class IV.1 Islamic Elementary School of Imami Kepanjen had been implemented quite well. Thematic learning planning was started by reviewing the syllabus, prepared / developed lesson plans, and solidified the material to be taught. Implementation of learning in the class IV.1 Islamic Elementary School of Imami Kepanjen already implemented properly. Learning implementation of Curriculum of 2013 was divided into three, namely the initial activity, core activities, and ending activities. Teachers used the authentic assessment in accordance with the curriculum of 2013. Efforts that made by the head of the school in order to be success the curriculum of 2013 was by implementation of mental development, moral development, physical development, and artistic development. ABSTRAK Adanya kebijakan pemerintah (Mendikbut) merevitalisasi pendidikan karakter dalam seluruh jenis dan jenjang pendidikan merupakan hal yang posistif, termasuk dalam pengembangan Kurikulum 2013 yang menekankan pada pendidikan karakter, terutama pada tingkat dasar sebagai fondasi ke jenjang selanjutnya. Pendidikan karakter dalam Kurikulum 2013 bertujuan untuk meningkatkan mutu proses dan hasil pendidikan, yang mengarah pada pembentukan budi pekerti dan akhlak mulia peserta didik secara utuh, terpadu, dan seimbang, sesuai dengan standar kompetensi lulusan pada setiap satuan pendidikan Metoologi kualitatif adalah prosedur penelitian yang menghasilkan data deskrpitif kualitatif berupa kata-kata tertulis atau lisan orang-orang dan perilaku yang diamati. Berdasarkan penjelasan tersebut penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif, karena peneliti ingin mendeskripsikan suatu fenomena sesuai dengan keadaan yang sebenarnya dialami oleh subjek penelitian dan menyajikan data tersebut dalam bentuk kata-kata. Alasan lain peneliti memlilih jenis penelitian ini, karena peneliti ingin meneliti kondisi obyek yang alamiah berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara, dengan peneliti sendiri sebagai instrumen kunci.
