ABSTRACT Motivation to learn is an important component in learning. The motivation to learn, would make learning become optimal. To improving motivation to learn, teachers can provide reinforcement by providing reward and punishment to students. The purpose of this research are: (1) to acknowledge the planning of implementation of reward and punishment to improve students' learning motivation of Islamic Education in SDI Nurul Izzah Malang, (2) to acknowledge the process of implementation of reward and punishment to improve students' learning motivation of Islamic Education in SDI Nurul Izzah Malang, (3) to acknowledge the result of implementation of reward and punishment to improve students' learning motivation of Islamic Education in SDI Nurul Izzah Malang. To achieve the goal of research, a qualitative research approach with qualitative descriptive research is used. Qualitative descriptive research is researchers came to the field to see the real phenomenon that occurred. The techniques to collect data are observation, interview and documentation. While data analysis using data reduction, data presentation and data verification. The result of implementation of reward and punishment to improve students' learning motivation of Islamic Education in SDI Nurul Izzah Malang shows: at the beginning of the lesson the teacher made an agreement with the students related to the implementation of reward and punishment. Reward given in the form of gift, praise and plus value. Punishment given in the form of reduction of value and clean up the school environment. The result of implementation of reward and punishment are (1) Student attitudes toward learning, (2) Students persistence toward learning, (3) Curiosity, (4) Opinions in groups, (5) Independent attitude in learning, (6) Consistency in learning. ABSTRAK Motivasi belajar merupakan salah satu komponen penting dalam pembelajaran. Dengan adanya motivasi belajar, pembelajaran akan menjadi lebih optimal. Dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar, guru dapat memberikan penguatan dengan memberikan reward and punishment kepada siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk: (1) mengetahui perencanaan pelaksanaan reward and punishment untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam di SDI Nurul Izzah Malang, (2) mengetahui proses pelaksanaan reward and punishment untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam di SDI Nurul Izzah Malang, (3) mengetahui hasil pelaksanaan reward and punishment untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam di SDI Nurul Izzah Malang. Untuk mencapai tujuan di atas, digunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yaitu peneliti datang ke lapangan untuk melihat secara langsung fenomena yang terjadi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian pelaksanaan reward and punishment untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam di SDI Nurul Izzah Malang menunjukkan: di awal pelajaran guru membuat kesepakatan dengan siswa terkait pelaksanaan reward and punishment. Reward yang diberikan berupa pemberian hadiah, pujian dan nilai plus. Punishment yang diberikan berupa pengurangan nilai dan membersihkan lingkungan sekolah.
