ABSTRACT Problem demoralized and all forms of behavior that does not reflect the positive character among learners is a problem that has been tolerated. Character education as education that leads man on positive character qualities and provide anticipatory efforts towards the formation of a negative character in the self-learners must still have a central role in the realm of education. Kahlil Gibran as mahjar illustrious literary figures to write the thoughts of gold in several of his works are condensed in the realm of humanitarian character value. Obviously, this is one of the contributory efforts toward character education, in particular the value of character education. Some of the educational value of Kahlil Gibran character in thinking also of relevance to the educational values of Islam and also can be applied to life in the modern era. The formulation of the problem in this research are: 1) How is the value of character education Kahlil Gibran in his works 2) How relevant is contained in the values of character education in the style of Kahlil Gibran in accordance with the values of Islamic education in the era of Modern 3) What methods character education Kahlil Gibran in his works This study used a qualitative approach to the type of library research (library research). Data collection techniques in this study using the documentation by collecting data source in the form of literature on primary and secondary. The method of analysis in this study using content analysis method. The results showed that the value of character education Kahlil Gibran consisting of at least 11 character values, namely: religious, honesty, tolerance, responsibility, independence, competence, social care, hard working, creative, nationalist, self-love. 11 value of these characters also have relevansitas against Islamic educational values contained in the Quran and Sunnah. In addition, the study concluded that there are several methods of character education in the thinking of Kahlil Gibran, among others studensentris, giving attention and affection, giving an example, the briefing, the briefing analogical. ABSTRAK Problem demoralisasi dan segala bentuk perilaku yang tidak mencerminkan karakter positif di kalangan peserta didik merupakan problem yang sudah dimaklumi. Pendidikan karakter sebagai pendidikan yang dapat mengantarkan manusia pada kualitas karakter positif dan memberikan upaya antisipatif terhadap pembentukan karakter negatif pada diri peserta didik tentunya masih memiliki peran sentral di ranah pendidikan. Kahlil Gibran sebagai sosok sastrawan mahjar yang masyhur menuliskan pemikiran-pemikiran emasnya dalam beberapa karyanya yang kental dalam ranah nilai karakter kemanusiaan. Tentunya, ini merupakan salah satu upaya kontributif terhadap pendidikan karakter, khususnya nilai pendidikan karakter. Beberapa nilai pendidikan karakter dalam pemikiran Kahlil Gibran juga memiliki relevansi terhadap nilai pendidikan Islam serta pula dapat diaplikasikan dalam kehidupan di era modern. Adapun rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah: 1) Bagaimanakah nilai pendidikan karakter Kahlil Gibran dalam karya-karyanya 2) Bagaimana relevansi yang terkandung dalam nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter ala Kahlil Gibran yang sesuai dengan nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam di era Modern 3)Bagaimana metode pendidikan karakter Kahlil Gibran dalam karya-karyanya Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jen} }
