ABSTRACT

Moral is a very important thing that became the basis of how human grow, live and socialize in the social environment. The parameters of good and bad character (manners) of a person is based on the morals, journey of life and guidance (dogma) of the Prophet Muhammad. In the application and habituation of morals, it would require a structured strategy in order to achieve the expected goal of having "al akhlak al karimah".

The purpose of this study is to: (1) Describe the moral condition of the children in Bogo village before the existence of the Pesantren Rakyat Darul Hikmah, (2) Describe the strategy used by Pesantren Rakyat Darul Hikmah in forming the al akhlak al karimah in children in Bogo village, (3) Describe the impact of the strategy used by Pesantren Rakyat Darul Hikmah to conform the al akhlak al karimah in children in Bogo village.

In order to achieve the objectives above, a qualitative approach and field type of research is used in Bogo village, Kediri. The key instrument is the researcher himself, and the data collecting techniques used are observation, interview and documentation. Data is analyzed by reducing irrelevant data, exposing data and drawing conclusions.

The results shows that, (1) morality of the children in Bogo village before the existence of Islamic Pesantren Rakyat Darul Hikmah was at first good, the cause is the limited access of  electronic media (online media / internet) in Bogo village. However, in 2009-2010 the morality of the children is decreasing due to the high frequence of electronic media usage and trends or western culture influence among children in Bogo village. (2) In order to form al akhlak al karimah for children in Bogo village, Pesantren Rakyat Darul Hikmah uses three strategies; cognitive strategy, affective strategy and psychomotor strategy. Cognitive strategies are applied through studying the Qur'an and religious books, affective strategies are applied trough practical applications or short lectures and psychomotor strategies are applied through four agenda, it is daily, weekly, monthly and annualy. (3) The impact of the strategy used by Pesantren Rakyat Darul Hikmah among others are the increasing morality based on religion guidance (good manner) and prevailing the provisions of syariah knowledge in the community. In addition, children are more capable to manage time well, more obedient to the Qur'an and have better attitude towards the teacher, they are also getting better at reading Al Quran with tartil, and more polite.
