ABSTRACT Developing natural science texbooks based on guided inquiry on the light nature material is one of the means to help students to improve learning outcomes in the learning process. Through this textbook, students get real and meaningful experience that are presented by the teacher, and it can be remembered and understood well by the students. This textbook is adapted to the standards of competence in applying the light nature through the activities of work / model, and basic competence describes the light nature. This material describes the 5 light natures through observation, and describes its application in everyday life. The purposes of the research are: 1) to explain the process of developing natural science textbook based on guided Inquiry, 2) to produce textbook that has the level of eligibility or level of validity in natural science subjects for class V at Public Elementary School Beji 1 of Pasuruan, and 3 ) Explain the textbook of natural science that can improve learning outcomes on the light nature material based on guided Inquiry. To achieve the objectives above, the type of research used Research and Development research, which referred to the Borg & Gall model. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and end result tests. Data were analyzed for the validity level of product and data analysis used t-test. The research results showed: 1) The product that was resulted from research and development was natural science textbooks based on guided inquiry of the light nature of the students of class V, 2) The textbook met the level of valid criteria with the validation result of content / material expert of 97.5 %, design expert reached 95%, learning content expert reached 90% and field trial result reached 91%. 3) the student learning outcomes of pre-test score average were 51.6% and post-test scores were 85%. In manual t-test with significance level of 0,05 was obtained the result of t count of 4,607 t table of 1,711, meaning that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted, so that natural science textbooks based on guided inquiry can improve the learning result of the nature Light material ABSTRAK Pengembangan buku ajar ilmu pengetahuan alam berbasis inkuiri terbimbing pada materi sifat-sifat cahaya merupakan salah satu sarana guna membantu siswa untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar dalam proses pembelajaran. Melalui buku ajar ini, siswa memperoleh pengalaman nyata dan bermakna sehingga materi pelajaran yang disampaikan oleh guru dapat diingat dan dipahami dengan baik oleh siswa. Buku ajar ini disesuaikan dengan standar kompetensi menerapkan sifat-sifat cahaya melalui kegiatan membuat suatu karya/model, dan kompetensi dasar mendiskripsikan sifat-sifat cahaya. Materi ini menjelaskan tentang 5 sifat-sifat cahaya melalui pengamatan dan mendeskripsikan penerapannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
