ABSTRACT The confidence and discipline character are part of kinds of characters that must be cultivated to learners especially in class I, II, and III at elementary school so that low grade students believe with themself to convey the task given by the teacher in advance of the class. In addition make students active in the classroom, discipline in doing the task given by the teacher who was done at home school or at home. The purposes of this research are to: (1) determine the teacher?s Strategy to transform the Confident Character and Dicipline through activities outside of teaching in Elementary School of Sunan Kalijaga Malang, (2) determine the teacher?s Strategy to transform the self-confidence and discipline as well as outside the learning in Elementary School of Sunan Kalijaga Malang, (3) knowing the supporting factors and inhibiting teacher?s strategy to transform the confident character and dicipline in Elementary School of Sunan Kalijaga Malang. To achieve the above objectives, the research used descriptive qualitative approach, the subjects in this research are the headmaster of elementary school, the sheriff of curriculum, and low grade teachers. The Methods of data collection with interviews, observation, and documentation. Data validity techniques with source and method tringulasi, dependability, and konfirmabilitas, analysis techniques and data used consisted of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results showed that, (1) the implementation of teacher?s strategy to transform the confident character and discipline through activities outside and in the learning in Elementary School of Sunan Kalijaga Malang held every day for low grade, the teachers apply some strategies such as habitually working on the problem with timely as for the teacher's confident strategy using habituation strategy in this school to train discipline students (2) the role of teacher ?s strategy to transform the confident character and discipline students to train students to be confident to deliver the results of his work in advance of the class and train students (3) inhibiting factors include: a) lack of parental supervision b) community environment c) media, while supporting factors are: a) discipline at school b) teachers who always give motivation to the students c) support from the headmaster and the staff. ABSTRAK karakter percaya diri dan disiplin merupakan karakter yang harus di tanamkan pada peserta didik khususnya kelas I,II, dan III supaya siswa kelas rendah percaya dengan dirinya sendiri untuk menyampaikan tugas yang di berikan oleh guru di muka kelas. selain itu supaya siswa aktif dalam kelas, disiplin dalam mengerjakan tugas yang diberikan oleh guru yang di kerjakan di sekolah maupun di rumah Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk : (1) mengetahui strategi guru dalam membentuk karakter percaya diri dan disiplin melalui kegiatan di luar pembelajaran di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Sunan Kalijaga Kota Malang, (2) mengetahi strategi guru dalam membentuk karakter percaya diri dan disiplin di dalam pembelajaran maupun di luar pembelajar} }
